About Pearl
Pearl is shaping the future of dentistry with a suite of AI-powered solutions developed to establish higher standards of quality and care for patients worldwide. Since 2019, our team has engineered FDA-cleared computer vision capabilities for the interpretation of 2D and 3D dental imagery—industry-leading capabilities that clinicians, practice owners, labs, and insurers use to elevate the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of dental care globally.
The Role
We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a modern, AI-augmented approach to software development. You'll thrive in high-velocity environments and actively leverage AI tools to multiply your impact—not as a nice-to-have, but as a core part of your daily workflow.
At Pearl, we believe AI isn't just what we build; it's how we build. We're looking for engineers who embrace AI-powered development tools to dramatically amplify their output and ship better software, faster.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of product features from an engineering perspective—from architecture and design through deployment and monitoring
- Design, build, and scale robust backend and frontend components for our clinical product suite
- Leverage AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and others) as a force multiplier, consistently operating at a multiple of traditional development workflows
- Bring a product-focused mindset to engineering work, balancing technical execution with usability, business goals, and real-world constraints to deliver impactful user experiences
- Collaborate cross-functionally with ML, product, and engineering teams to develop intelligent, reliable features
- Ensure high-quality software through automated testing, code review, and sound engineering practices
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and proactively share learnings with the team
- Help define and champion AI-first engineering best practices across the organization
- Mentor teammates on effective AI-augmented development practices
What You'll Deliver
- Features shipped across Pearl's clinical product suite using AI-assisted development workflows
- Scalable system architectures that integrate seamlessly with Pearl's ML and computer vision pipelines
- Engineering velocity and quality improvements by identifying where AI tooling can reduce friction
- Comprehensive documentation and code reviews leveraging AI tooling for efficiency
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping impactful products
- Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and full-stack development (frontend and backend)
- Proven experience designing and scaling distributed systems or backend infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and commitment to AI-augmented workflows
- Product intuition and ability to balance technical decisions with user needs and business impact
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience or familiarity with healthcare technology, regulated industries, or compliance standards is a plus
Why Join Pearl
You'll work on cutting-edge AI technology that directly improves patient outcomes in dentistry. You'll join a team that values engineering excellence, AI-forward thinking, and shipping at velocity. Remote-first culture gives you flexibility while working with a collaborative, innovative team on a mission-driven product.
