Position Overview
Xapo Bank is seeking a mid-level Financial Accountant to support global financial operations within a fully distributed team of 6 in the Finance department. You will report directly to the Financial Controller and be responsible for ensuring accuracy of financial data, supporting month-end close processes, and assisting with regulatory and audit requirements in a pioneering crypto-banking environment. While direct experience in crypto accounting is advantageous, strong foundational accounting skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Month-End Reporting: Prepare lead schedules and reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts
- Journal Management: Prepare and post journals including standard accruals and complex financial asset adjustments
- Daily Financial Operations: Manage end-to-end lifecycle of corporate expenses and payables
- Intercompany & Multi-Entity Oversight: Reconcile intercompany transactions across global entities
- Regulatory & Compliance Support: Collate data and prepare periodic returns for financial regulators (GFSC and UK requirements)
- Tax & Statutory Compliance: Prepare data for statutory tax requirements
- Audit Support: Serve as key point of contact during internal and external audits
- Balance Sheet Integrity: Perform regular reviews of intercompany accounts and equity movements
Required Qualifications
- Professional Accounting Qualification (Mandatory): ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA certification required
- Experience: 3-5 years in corporate accounting or audit roles
- Fintech/Regulated Financial Services: Experience within fintech or regulated financial institutions is a significant advantage
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel capabilities
- Knowledge: Understanding of multi-entity consolidation and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently in a remote environment
