[MSO] Linux Systems Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to join our distributed team at SoftwareMind. This is a full-time remote position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to meaningful infrastructure and systems engineering projects for global clients.

As a Linux Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Linux-based infrastructure solutions. Your expertise will drive system reliability, performance optimization, and security across our technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable Linux infrastructure solutions
• Manage and monitor system performance, availability, and security
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement preventive measures
• Automate routine administrative tasks and system processes
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployments
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
• Conduct security audits and implement hardening procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support

Required Skills & Experience

• Advanced proficiency in Linux administration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions)
• Strong experience with system architecture and infrastructure design
• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Understanding of networking protocols and TCP/IP stack
• Proven experience with monitoring and logging solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities in English
