About the Role

We are seeking a talented AI Engineer II to join our Applied AI team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role offers end-to-end ownership of complex AI-powered platforms and systems that drive Sezzle's core capabilities. You will operate in highly ambiguous problem spaces, working closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to identify opportunities where AI can deliver meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and ownership of AI-powered internal platforms and systems, including initiatives built from the ground up
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex projects, from problem discovery through implementation and deployment
• Build intelligent automation and orchestration systems that streamline workflows and enhance decision-making
• Embed proprietary AI solutions directly into customer-facing products, internal tools, and operational systems
• Shape architecture, drive implementation, and ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, and genuinely impactful
• Collaborate across teams to translate ambiguous challenges into concrete AI-driven solutions
• Move beyond scoped execution into leading full solutions with increased ownership and technical influence

What We're Looking For

You demonstrate high technical IQ and emotional intelligence, with proven ability to thrive in ambiguous environments. Experience with machine learning engineering, AI platforms, Python, LLMs, and system design is essential. You excel at end-to-end project ownership and have a track record of delivering complex, production-grade AI systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams are critical for success.
