The Role

As a Senior or Staff Product Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of product vision and technical excellence. You'll collaborate closely with founders and design to bring new concepts to life, working across the full stack in a high-autonomy environment. This is a full-lifecycle role where you'll shape problems, not just implement solutions.

What you'll build:

• AI-powered functionality integrated into Linear's core platform
• User-facing features with beautiful, scalable UI components
• Realtime collaborative content editor used across all internal surfaces
• Performance optimizations that obsessively improve application speed
• Processes and systems that keep our lean team operating at high velocity

What We're Looking For

You're an experienced full-stack engineer with 5+ years building customer-facing products at high-quality software companies. You have strong fundamentals in React and TypeScript, with hands-on experience across the entire stack: browser technologies, Node.js, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.

Beyond technical skills, you bring:

• A track record of driving complex, end-to-end features with visible product impact—not just incremental improvements
• Deep product sensibility: you care about UX, speed, and polish, and you push back when something doesn't feel right
• High ownership mentality—you're self-directed and take features from idea to shipped
• Comfort working without heavy PM overhead; you help shape the problem
• Experience at a startup or company with a genuinely high engineering bar
• Ability to thrive in a remote, async-first environment with a lean, high-output team

Work Environment

Linear is remote-first and open to candidates based in the US and Europe. You can work from anywhere within these regions. We value deep focus and async collaboration, with intentional moments to connect in person through team off-sites, optional co-working, and occasional travel.
