Traditional processes often carry a pessimistic mindset—boxing people into constrained roles to minimize risk. We're building something optimistic instead: an environment that trusts engineers to own what they build and stays out of their way when they're innovating.

What You'll Do

As an Engineering Manager, you'll focus on people, process, and culture—not sprint planning or making product decisions for your team. Your responsibilities include:

• Build and mentor your engineering team, helping them develop skills to thrive with real ownership
• Create an empowering environment where engineers consistently do their best work with minimal distraction
• Provide feedback on product and technical specs, coaching individual contributors to reach the right decisions
• Grow engineers to handle large, loosely-defined projects with minimal intervention
• Stay hands-on: debug customer issues, ship bug fixes, and improve developer experience alongside your team
• Keep your engineering skills current while remaining off the critical path
• Manage a lean team (typically 6 direct reports for junior EMs), enabling meaningful mentorship and observation

Your Background

You have experience managing engineering teams and understand what it takes to build high-performing, autonomous engineers. You're comfortable with ambiguity, thrive in collaborative environments, and believe in leading by example—including hands-on coding.
