About the Role
We seek an experienced Global Systems and Financial Operations Manager to join our leadership team. This strategic position oversees financial systems, operational processes, and data infrastructure across our organization spanning the UK and East Africa. You will report to senior leadership and play a critical role in scaling operations for impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain financial management systems and controls
- Manage accounting software, ERP systems, and financial data architecture
- Develop operational workflows and process documentation for distributed teams
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across multiple locations
- Ensure compliance with UK and East African financial regulations
- Lead systems integration and data governance initiatives
- Mentor finance and operations team members
- Drive efficiency improvements through technology and process optimization
About You
You bring 7+ years of experience in financial operations, systems management, or accounting roles. You're comfortable with international NGO/nonprofit environments and understand the complexities of multi-country operations. You excel at building scalable systems, managing teams, and translating business needs into operational solutions.
Required Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or equivalent)
- Financial reporting and GAAP/IFRS knowledge
- Process mapping and operational documentation
- Data management and analytics fundamentals
- Project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with nonprofit or international development organizations
- Familiarity with East African regulatory environments
- ERP system implementation or customization experience
- Background in educational impact organizations
