Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager for Project Finance and Accounting, the Associate Manager - Country Office and Project Finance and Accounting will implement the project infrastructure and systems needed to support projects and company strategic objectives. This role is accountable for cradle-to-grave project implementation finances, including start-up, close-out, project cost management, reconciliation of project accounts, financial reporting to donors and project staff, financial analysis, data interpretation, and compliance with donor reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project financial lifecycle from inception through closeout
- Reconcile and analyze project accounts with accuracy and transparency
- Prepare financial reports for donors and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and donor policies
- Collaborate with Finance colleagues to streamline project-related information flow
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to senior management
- Evaluate industry best practices and assess internal systems against current standards
- Monitor project costs and budget realities for sustainability
Work Environment
This position is primarily remote/home office based. Job responsibilities may require periodic meetings, conferences, and training in various public spaces. Employees within commuting distance to our Hallowell, ME office may opt for a hybrid arrangement.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in project finance, nonprofit accounting, and financial reporting. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Proficiency with accounting systems and donor compliance requirements is required. This position has no direct reports.
